I would like to connect a wireless router Model TBD: 802.11ac, simultaneous dual-band to my current cable modem/wifi router combo Motorola SBG6580; 802.11N + Docsis 3.0; shortcoming: NOT simultaneous dual-band!. The point of my question, and what has kept me from moving forward with a purchase, is that I'm afraid of difficulty with the second or 'new' wireless network which would be created - down the line via Ethernet from the main modem/wifi router combo. Any direction (including links) would be appreciated. If you're still reading this: further background to the problem: I have a pressing reason for this, which is that my phone only has a 2.4Ghz capability, and I have the cable modem/router set to 5Ghz (it is not a simultaneous-capable type), because my computer wan speeds are more important to me than wifi syncing my phone.
But, I would like to get that capability back. And, since I'm in no mode to upgrade my phone just to have 5Ghz N capability.it seems the inexpensive route to simply upgrade my wireless router and hopefully increase the speed of all of my computers + gain access for my phone to the (new) simultaneous dual-band router. Thanks for your input!
I have not tried it on any other Windows versions, your millage may vary. Do not wait for application: pclose(popen('start /B notepad.exe', 'r')); Wait for application: system('start notepad.exe'); This has been tested on Windows XP. In the first code snippet, the script will not wait for the application to close; the second snippet waits for the program to close before continuing (blocking). • Start->Run, type 'services.msc' to bring up Services control (other ways to get there, this is easiest IMO) • Locate your Apache service (mine was called 'wampapache' using WampServer 2.0) • Open the service properties (double-click or right click->properties) • Flip to the Log On account and ensure the checkbox titled 'Allow service to interact with Desktop' is checked • Flip back to the General tab, stop the service, start the service Now, using the code below, you can spawn UI processes from PHP. Jobs that don't run background checks.
@ You can use any router which has a Ethernet WAN jack for Internet inorder to use it for Hathway. However, ensure that you set the router in AP Access Point mode. In this method, the modem will do the authentication and assign IP address to your devices. However, for downloading, would suggest to pick up a N13 U B1 for about 3k from prime ABGB. You will also need to do some linux hacking if you want the best out of the router, else you can continue with the stock firmware. If you do not mind having an additional device for downloading, go for any router of your choice (ex ASUS N10) and pick up a Seagate Go Flex Net being sold by varkey for the downloading.
You can call up hathway and request them to release your Mac Binding as i have done.Just an another option. Get a simple wireless router or the one's mentioned by vivek according to your requirement i.e if you just need a simple dumb router get a cheap one below 1k or if you want a smart router that will download files even when your PC is off which will cost you more than 2k. Once you have decided upon the router and bought it,u'll find everything in the manual of how to configure. If any help is needed in configuring,u have people here who can help you. Click to expand.i have cisco co-axial modem dpq2160. A co-axial cable comes to modem and then a lan is connected to pc. I need to login daily on hathway login page using id and password, they provided.

The ip address remains same for 1 whole day.need to login daily. When i login to hathway acc, there is one option called service usage here we can see our account details wotih service usage. There is one more line written MAC Address: And a mac id is written. When i go to cmd, and type getmac to see my pc mac id, it also gives a mac id. But the above two mac ids are completely different. I have cisco co-axial modem dpq2160.

Now, to use the router with your current system, all you need to do is connect the LAN from the modem to the router WAN port instead of the PC. Take a wire from the other ports on the router to your PC. Each time you open any page on your PC/mobile, it will show up the same page and you will need to enter your login details. If you want to bypass this page and do automatic filling, you will need a router which is DD WRT compatible and the proper script for your hathway. This will take some time if a current script is not there on the net. I think @ can help you out too.

Hi,Recently I shifted my home and in the new locality I am unable to get any ADSL 2+ BB provider.I am having an iBall Baton ADSL2+ router (iB-WRA150N ver 2.0) which has now became obsolate due to unavailability of ADSL 2+ connection. The only provider available in my locality is HATHWAY BB but they provide cable Modem with a RJ45 output. So I was wondering,is there a way out to make use of my current iBall modem cum wifi router to use as a wifi hub/LAN-router with the RJ45 input.Plese help me out of the situation and I can reuse my existing modem and save some money. Thanks for you valuable suggestion.
I got the Hathway BB connection Yesterday and it is working fine with my iBall - ADSL router. So I am posting now how I have done this.
